A message from the Deputy Head of Department (Teaching and Learning)
"We are delighted that you are considering studying economics at university. You can use this webpage to view resources and readings that have been recommended by our academic faculty for anyone who may be considering studying economics at undergraduate level. You can choose to engage with these resources in preparation for your arrival as a new student in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick.
Please note that you are not required to engage with these resources. However, these are recommendations just in case you are interested in doing some preparation before you arrive and we encourage you to explore your interests widely and with enthusiasm in whatever way you see fit.
If you obtain an offer to study with us, we will tell you what you are required to read prior to your arrival, but for now, just read and engage with the things that make you feel as passionate and excited about economics, as we do."
Associate Professor Claudia Rei
The Student Perspective
Jasmine's Story
Read our Student BlogsThe most interesting module I found in my first year is Applied Economics because it tells me how I can apply the static theories of economics into the dynamic real world. I think the lecturers are really friendly and open to our opinions."
Optional Reading
The books listed below are by no means compulsory reading and you are not required to purchase them before you begin the course. However, if you have the time and you'd like to prepare for the course, we hope you enjoy our recommendations.
